Direct access to Second Year Degree Study for International Students
The Undergraduate Certificate foundation course has been carefully developed to fully qualify international students to meet the challenges of degree-level study at the University. It is a rigorous and intensive course of academic subjects, study skills and English language training.
Study Structure
The Undergraduate Certificate is modular in structure. You can choose modules from three routes:
- Business and Arts
- Sciences
- Computing
All students take core modules in English, mathematics, study skills, and British Culture and Society. These are supplemented by elective modules, which you can choose according to the academic areas of your chosen degree program.
University-style Teaching
The foundation year is fully validated by the University of Sterling and replaces the traditional first year of a degree course. It introduces you to the style of teaching that you will experience when you progress onto the second year of your degree. This will include tutorials, seminar style classes and larger group lectures.
