For almost 40 years the Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) has been proudly providing quality vocational education and training across a broad range of subject areas and at a variety of levels. SIT offers programmes from certificate to bachelor degrees and postgraduate level, so you can enter your training at the level that suits you and progress when you are ready.
Taking an innovative approach to education, SIT offers a Zero Fee Scheme - so you can study without incurring tuition fees, maximising your opportunities whilst minimising your debt! This applies to both on-campus and distance learning programmes. Many of our programmes staircase to higher level qualifications at SIT, or other institutions in New Zealand and throughout the world. We are constantly developing these relationships to ensure our graduates have maximum mobility. In some programmes, such as the Bachelor of Audio Production, these links with other institutions enable the students to spend time in another country during the course of their degree.
With around 13000 students, SIT is big enough to offer variety and a student culture, yet has small class sizes ensuring plenty of hands-on experiences. The main campus is in Invercargill with three faculties, but you may also like to check out what we offer in Christchurch, Gore and Queenstown.
