About JCU
James Cook University, Singapore Campus
James Cook University is Australia's leading tropical research university with campuses located in Singapore, Townsville, Cairns, and Brisbane.

The Singapore Campus is the first offshore campus of the university. It was established in 2003 as part the university's expressed intent of internationalising its activities and in pursuit of its vision of Providing a better life for people in the tropics. The Singapore campus is a full campus of James Cook University Australia and the programs offered follow the same curriculum as the Australian versions but are contextualised to the Asian environment. The campus is truly multi cultural with students from across Asia, in particular China India and Indochina. Additionally study abroad students enrol from Europe and the United States.
The university has a new campus at 600 Upper Thomson Rd. The campus provides students with access to a full range of facilities and services to support their learning. The university is fully accredited by the Singapore government. All courses are approved by Ministry of Education and our operations are governed by Case Trust.
Our campus differs from the majority of other local providers in that we are a true campus of James Cook University Australia. This provides the opportunity for international and local students to earn a real Australian degree without leaving Singapore.

Program Duration
JCU Singapore runs a unique tri-mester academic year. This is made possible by shortening breaks between study periods and running an additional term in November.
This means some students can fast-track their study and complete their degree in less time. For example,
- 3 year Bachelor degree (6 trimesters, 24 subjects) completed in 2 years
- 1.5 year Masters degree (3 trimesters, 12 subjects) completed in 1 year
Students graduating earlier than their peers thus enjoying cost savings on living expenditure for the duration of their overseas study experience.
Student Accommodation

James Cook University's Accommodation Service will assist students to accustom to new environment in short period of time. The Accommodation Service provides assistance and advice to help you review your accommodation options, source and make available accommodation whether you choose to stay in our off campus hostel or private rental or shared accommodation.

Student Services
The Student Affairs Office is responsible for students enrolled at JCUS for the duration of their program.
• Orientation is conducted a week before the term starts. Students are
briefed on the rules and policies of JCUS and Singapore.
• JCUS recommends accommodation to its students. It places great
emphasis on helping students find suitable accommodation.
• Student mentor program to groom leaders and to provide a
source of guidance and assistance to students who faces problems.
• Career planning and career workshops such as Effective Resume Writing
and Effective Interview Techniques to prepare graduating students
for job search.

Graduates of James Cook University
Once you have completed all the requirements for the award you have enrolled in, you qualify to obtain a degree from James Cook University. This is the same award given to students graduating from the Australian campuses, so you will join a global alumni network of over 30,000 JCU graduates.
